About Mariposa Rabbitry

Our rabbitry started many years ago with Heidi's passion for animals, but officially registered with ARBA in 2000. One of Heidi's good friends was raising holland lop rabbits. Heidi fell in love with the small personable bunny. She has been hooked ever since, and we strive for a competitive, compact and balanced rabbit.

Mariposa Ranch

Many people ask me how Heidi came up with rabbitry name. Our rabbitry is named after Heidi's family ranch, they once owned near Ridgeway and Telluride, Colorado. The family was walking in the beautiful aspen grove...and notice a few delicate white flowers. They were absolutely beautiful! With a little research we found the name of this flower, The Mariposa Lily.
Mariposa also m eans "butterfly"

The Mariposa Lily

The Mariposa Lily is a rare delicate flower that was found on the family ranch near Telluride Colorado, in the aspen meadows.
